A Strong Woman versus A Woman of Strength October 24, 2006

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape…
but a woman of strength kneels in prayer to keep her soul in shape…

A strong woman isn’t afraid of anything…
but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of her fear…

A strong woman won’t let anyone get the best of her…
but a woman of strength gives the best of her to everyone…

A strong woman walks sure footedly…
but a woman of strength knows God will catch her if she falls…

A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face…
but a woman of strength wears grace…

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey…
but a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong…

Philippians 4:3 (NKJ) “And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.”

got reminded of this very special and sweet blog and read every post. itz juz so heart-warming..sharing bits and pieces of our lives, anointed songs and lyrics. praise God for technology! so much better den reading those gossipy blogs..haha.

i came to ntu caregroup quite sometime ago. wendy was my CGL den, louis was the first person i met, NIE babes were still a part of NTU-A……and i wasnt in NTU yet. the first event i went for was worship under the stars..i pretty much stuck to my frens instead of mingling with the cg. and i so diden noe i’ll be so very, very loved and blessed by this very group of ppl (and more!) in my years to come =)

i remember the times when my birthday was remembered and celebrated by this group of very precious ppl. there was flowers, there was a cake, and of coz powerful prayers that came to pass. there was the establishing of kingdom friendships dat im still in the process of building.

the revelation of how impt godly fellowship is first came upon me when i went for my fren’s church camp (ironically). it was a youth camp..and they shared such strong bonds of brotherly/sisterly love and love of God. as i spent the few days getting integrated with them, my Spirit knew i wanted a share of such fellowship too. kingdom frenships are the ppl who encourage me with God’s Word, remind me of Jesus perfect work, share the beauty of the Lord’s doings in our lives, have godly fun……smth dat the world can never ever give.

having been busy doing things of the world in my past 2 years, i noe derez a longing for really special frenships dat can never be filled no matter how many wordly frens i make. and yes, those ppl who ever go lunch with me before will noe..i have many of such frens. but will they share eternity with me?

and so the first thing on my ‘Bible Hope List’ for HM5 was to have ‘brethren in unity’ (Psalms 133:1) in Christ. praise Jesus, it came to pass. and im so proud and blessed to have each and everyone of u in my life..truly is as the dew of Hermon – life in abundance.

more of Jesus, more of love, more of godly fun! NTU-CG WHOOOOSH!! =)

Dot

A Divine Meeting that led jo & cam into NTU cg. September 27, 2006

One year ago..I entered NTU but not knowing anyone in the NTU cg..the only thing I knew was that my cgl (at that time) is called Kok Haw..lol..cos only got name, but duno the person..anyway..was told that there was an NTU retreat at bukit batok on 30 July 2005…so as I knew no one..I was hesitant to go for the retreat..I told no one..not even myself I think..but deep inside..I was thinking that if there’s someone to go with..how great would that be?

And it so happened that…..our Great and Omniscient God already had a divine plan A divine plan for me & Camellia to meet! We are in the same course but we din know each other..but on 29 July..it so happened that i went into the last lecture of that friday..and saw my JC fren, Felda & decided to sit with her..and so she introduced me to Camellia..so as me and Camellia was talking, we discovered that we’re both from NCC & that we’re both deciding whether to go for the retreat! God is just so awesome! He knew we need company to take that step of faith to join this awesome family..& so i was given Camellia! :)

At gerry’s house..I know I was trying hard to know like 30+ ppl & their names!
The memories I had was people introducing themselves with an adjective in front..and there was this loud n funny chindian telling me that my cg got a Tall Timothy who’s erm..not..(lol..sorry..cannot resist to put this in..lol..) and I remembered ppl who left an impression in me..Alice, that chindian (lol..), Timothy (ang) and coach..but most importantly..i remembered feeling the awesome love of my Daddy God..

And here we are again..one year later on 23 September 2006..at gerry’s hse…feeling the warmth of the AWESOME love of my Daddy God for all of us..and it’s just so awesome that the girl God chose to use to let me & camellia meet, felda, is here with us..and not only her..all the newcomers into NTU cg..and even those who weren’t at the retreat one year ago..I believe that you being here with us this time round..it’s God planning something for you..God is doing mighty wonders for you..

Just like to end off by saying that thou I’ve only been in this cg for a year..it felt like ages! Why? ‘Cos this cg is not merely friends..it’s family to me..it’s where God is most evident for me..every single one of you..a family member to me..my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. :)

In His unfailing love,
Jo :)

A Song from Daddy God September 22, 2006

Hi beloveds,

Here’s a lyrics, Worth Everything by Pocket Full of Stories, that has touched Agnes’ heart and I’m sure will touch yours too.

As I read the lyrics, I can’t help but be awed by His amazing love.

Like what Agnes has said, it’s a song of Daddy God singing to us, a truth we all NEED to KNOW and BELIEVE.

I took a look inside my heart
I tried to find a part
Is there anything
I could give to the King.

Maybe there’s something I’ve said
Maybe there’s something I’ve done
Oh just anything to make me
One of the ones He loves

In Desperation I stepped back
To see just what I had
And to my dismay all I found
Was a pile of filthy rags

What was I to say
What was I to do
Now that I stand here
With nothing I could give you.

And I hear your voice
Call out my name
And I listen close and
I can hear you say

You were worth everything
You were loved by the King.
You were worth everything
No there’s nothing you could bring

You were worth it all the time
I loved you all the while
Hear the angels sing
You were worth everything.

You stood on the edge of nothing
And looked down and saw everything
And before you spoke a word
The Father knew how it would be

To give every man a Saviour
The ultimate sacrifice
The giving of what was most dear
The giving of His own Son’s life
And He saw the hill
And He saw that tree

O and He saw the cross
It would one day be your own
And I hear His voice call out your name
If you listen close you can hear Him say

You were worth everything …

It’s Friday – the fourth time of the week that got me waking up at 5.45 a.m for my 8.30 a.m. and 9 a.m. classes.

I’ve also been staying back in school for project meetings.

My energy level was at its peak during the first three weeks of school…and now, it’s dwindling like a battery that needs some re-charging.

Don’t get me wrong. Praise God. I’m still excited about school. I’m still enjoying every single bit of it, okay perhaps not so much on the readings especially for CS201.

From this week onwards, all the projects have started and there’s work coming in and visits to our clients’ organisations to keep me really occupied. As a result, and partly due to the fact that CS201 requires lots of my attention, my readings are piling up and I’m getting freak out.

So to those non-CS people out there, CS201 is a module on the History of Communication Study. In this module, we learn about Charles Darwin’s evolution theory, Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic theory, Karl Marx’s historical analysis of materialism, the Critical School and School of Chicago, Harold Lasswell’s communication model and now, we’re currently at Paul Lazarsfeld and his study of mass communication effects.

They’re relatively interesting, especially Darwin and Freud…but later on, as we got to learn the rest of the famous scholars, I got mixed up with their different theories.

In fact, I used to think that I understand this subject well enough to know what’s what….until I logged on to the discussion board in our Edventure that I realised perhaps I’m just as clueless as some of my friends. Some of the questions posted up there – at least to my own opinion – are intelligently silly and self-perplexing questions to further confuse the poor souls out there like me. Of course, there are some that are really relevant and the links provided really helped in understanding certain concepts much better. Nevertheless, due to the massive amount of information such as theories and concepts, I tend to forget about them easily or get them mixed up.

To make things worse, many seniors told me that CS201 is a killer subject…

Having said that, I’m beginning to wonder how I’ll fare for it.

But good news! I’ve got a mighty saviour called Jesus. He’ll definitely not disappoint those who believe in Him. He has given me an assurance – 100% unshakable and non-refundable. Hallelujah! And all God’s people say….Amen!

I feel so exhausted now. Feeling heavy-headed and losing all my senses. I’m surrendering my weariness to God because I know that it’s through my weaknesses that He can strengthen me and give me peace.

I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice. – Ezekiel 34:16

God shall grant me a good night rest of undisrupted sleep filled with honey-combed dreams as He replenishes my strength, renews by soul and feeds my spirit. Amen amen amen!

So my dear friends, if you’re also feeling tired from all the school work and projects…remember to seek God and He’ll put you at rest.

I love you Jesus!

Come to me, all who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest – Matthew 11:28

Love love,
Cam

Hey beloveds,

You know…I love NTU so much!!!!

You people are awesome.

Thank god for the fellowship. Godly fellowship.

Want to encourage you guys to don’t “feel bad” about seeking godly counsel. (godly counsel is seeking your leaders)

In two weeks, two girls told me that they feel so. And I am actually the third person.

What a subtle lie the devil places in our hearts.

Being such a VERY INVINCIBLE PERSON, its very hard for the devil to catch us as ‘it’ no longer holds the key of death for us, the only way is for us to BELIEVE a lie.

Well before you do that, would encourage you all to be open to daddy god. For its when you are open to daddy god that you find you can be open to man. – for what is man before god.

Made to be loved,
agnessarah
