When you’re tired, don’t forget to say Amen! September 9, 2006

It’s Friday – the fourth time of the week that got me waking up at 5.45 a.m for my 8.30 a.m. and 9 a.m. classes.
I’ve also been staying back in school for project meetings.
My energy level was at its peak during the first three weeks of school…and now, it’s dwindling like a battery that needs some re-charging.
Don’t get me wrong. Praise God. I’m still excited about school. I’m still enjoying every single bit of it, okay perhaps not so much on the readings especially for CS201.
From this week onwards, all the projects have started and there’s work coming in and visits to our clients’ organisations to keep me really occupied. As a result, and partly due to the fact that CS201 requires lots of my attention, my readings are piling up and I’m getting freak out.
So to those non-CS people out there, CS201 is a module on the History of Communication Study. In this module, we learn about Charles Darwin’s evolution theory, Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic theory, Karl Marx’s historical analysis of materialism, the Critical School and School of Chicago, Harold Lasswell’s communication model and now, we’re currently at Paul Lazarsfeld and his study of mass communication effects.
They’re relatively interesting, especially Darwin and Freud…but later on, as we got to learn the rest of the famous scholars, I got mixed up with their different theories.
In fact, I used to think that I understand this subject well enough to know what’s what….until I logged on to the discussion board in our Edventure that I realised perhaps I’m just as clueless as some of my friends. Some of the questions posted up there – at least to my own opinion – are intelligently silly and self-perplexing questions to further confuse the poor souls out there like me. Of course, there are some that are really relevant and the links provided really helped in understanding certain concepts much better. Nevertheless, due to the massive amount of information such as theories and concepts, I tend to forget about them easily or get them mixed up.
To make things worse, many seniors told me that CS201 is a killer subject…
Having said that, I’m beginning to wonder how I’ll fare for it.
But good news! I’ve got a mighty saviour called Jesus. He’ll definitely not disappoint those who believe in Him. He has given me an assurance – 100% unshakable and non-refundable. Hallelujah! And all God’s people say….Amen!
I feel so exhausted now. Feeling heavy-headed and losing all my senses. I’m surrendering my weariness to God because I know that it’s through my weaknesses that He can strengthen me and give me peace.
I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice. – Ezekiel 34:16
God shall grant me a good night rest of undisrupted sleep filled with honey-combed dreams as He replenishes my strength, renews by soul and feeds my spirit. Amen amen amen!
So my dear friends, if you’re also feeling tired from all the school work and projects…remember to seek God and He’ll put you at rest. ![]()
I love you Jesus!
Come to me, all who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest – Matthew 11:28
Love love,
Cam
